Arizona artists work with a broad range of content, techniques and forms to create exquisitely designed, printed and bound books as well as sculptural objects and installations related to books. While there is a heavy emphasis on the personal and autobiographical, many artists are also inspired by their observations of the natural world and our striking landscape. Others explore social patterns, concerns and systems in the region and in the nation. The four nominated artists range from emerging to mid-career, and reflect this diversity of expression.
